Description
Green Pepper is a nutritious bell-shaped vegetable. It gets its name from its vibrant green shining color which is sure to add that vibrant feel to your meal. It’s also called bell peppers. When green pepper is added to a meal, it provides this unique aroma and taste. Basically, it enhances the food taste and flavor.
You can definitely tell when green pepper has been added. The green pepper, unlike our regular small red pepper, is not “hot or peppery” because it doesn’t have capsaicin which is responsible for that hotness. Usually, in preparation, the white foam-like core with tiny seeds is removed before use.
There are also orange, yellow and red variants of the green pepper. Green pepper is highly nutritious. It is a good source of vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals. They can be eaten raw in salads, fried, cooked, boiled, baked and even roasted.
However you eat it, it provides a long list of health benefits. The vitamins contained in green peppers have antioxidant properties. The flavonoids and phytochemicals reduce the formation of blood cells thereby lowering risk of stroke and heart attack. The fiber content improves colon health.
